TRAI (TCCCPR 2018) has mandated all businesses that want to send SMS to register their business entity, headers (SMS sender IDs), content templates, and consent templates on BSNL, Vodafone, Videocon, Jio TrueConnect or other DLT platforms. Please note that all steps in the DLT registration process must be completed to send SMS.

  • What is DLT?

    DLT is block chain based registeration system, In public's interest, TRAI(Telecom Regulatory Authority Of India) has come up with a solution to curb & control spam SMS by some telemarketers. with DLT all messages regardless of Promotional or Transactional needs to be registered on DLT platform.

  • below are the list of operators proving DLT registeration & management platform. Telemarkers can register on any of the DLT platforms below by entering mandatory information & uploading required documents.

  • for any DLT registeration there a cost associated to it which is to be paid by every telemarketers.
    There is a registeration Fee of 5900/- which is charged by the operators.

  • Business Document Required:(Mandatory)

    1. Proof of Identity PAN Card (Business PAN card)
    2. Proof of Address GST Certificate, Certificate of Incorporation, TAN Certificate, FSSAI License, Import/Export Registration Certificate
    3. Letter of Authorization / Authorised signatory letter download sample

    Individual Document Required:(Mandatory)

    1. Proof of Identity PAN Card (Self PAN card)
    2. Proof of Address Authorized Person ID (AADHAAR CARD /PAN/VOTER ID)

  • Once registered on DLT platform, & approved by the operator, telemarketers can login to DLT platform and make the registeration fee payment, after which a telemarketers license will be issued.

  • Telemarketers License is valid for 5 years from the date of issue.

  • In general public's interest TRAI has been working to curb the menace of Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC) or messages or SPAM calls.
    TRAI has issued a new regulatory framework – The Telecom Commercial Communication Customer Preference Regulation (TCCCPR 2018) dated 19th July 2018. TCCCPR prescribes DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology)implementation.
    All Carriers will now adhere to the new Trai DLT regaultion.
    All Domestic A2P SMS traffic will be incur to an additional DLT scrubbing charge of INR 0.025 per SMS submitted to the DLT platform.
